Exciting Developments in Team Leader Apprenticeship: IfATE Approves Revised Level 3 Standard

Published: 28 October 2024

The new Team Leader Level 3 Apprenticeship supports individuals to develop the requisite knowledge, skills and behaviors to provide first-line management and support for teams and senior management.

Team leaders will work with various internal departments and interact with external stakeholders including customers and suppliers. They will be responsible for:

  • supporting, managing, and developing individuals
  • planning and monitoring workloads and resources
  • delivering operational plans
  • resolving problems
  • building relationships both internally and externally.

A key addition of the new programme is the emphasis on sustainability, maximising the use of IT packages and equity in the workplace. Apprentices will now learn how to lead teams using practices that minimise environmental impact and foster inclusive and equitable working practices.

The apprenticeship revision also provides organisations with new opportunities to align their leadership training with current thinking and standards.

And this apprenticeship can be funded either by the Levy or government co-investment of 95% and a 5% employer contribution enabling organisations to access affordable, high-quality leadership development for current or future team leaders.

At MTC Training, we take pride in delivering apprenticeship programmes that reflect local industry needs and bridge skills gaps, which is why we are actively engaging with stakeholders to shape our new provision, launching in January 2025.

Our expert apprenticeship team is here to support businesses and learners every step of the way, from enrolment to end point assessment, ensuring professional training that empowers learners for career progression.
