In a world where sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint are critical priorities, MTC Training and the University of Sunderland are leading by example. Recently, staff from MTC Training attended an R&I sustainability meeting to explore new strategies for embracing eco-friendly practices.

What is Sustainability?

At its core, sustainability is about protecting our planet to ensure that future generations can thrive. It encompasses actions such as reducing waste, conserving energy, and using more sustainable forms of transportation

.

The University of Sunderland’s Green Initiatives:

  • Waste Reduction & Recycling: Increasing efforts to minimize waste and promote recycling.
  • Nature-Friendly Spaces: Enhancing green spaces across campuses to support biodiversity.
  • Travel Reduction: Limiting car and plane travel to lower carbon emissions.
  • Electric Vehicles: Using electric cars for inter-campus travel.
  • Hybrid Working: Supporting hybrid work models to reduce the environmental impact of commuting.

MTC Training aligns with these sustainability goals through initiatives like online training courses, reducing the need for travel, and participating in group clean-up activities. By promoting sustainability within our courses and partnerships, we aim to inspire others to adopt greener practices.
